Fletchers meets a competitive market

Chiswick and the surrounding area remain as popular as ever with buyers and tenants who appreciate the leafy streets, proximity to the river and good schools. Fletchers have been experts in this market for over 21 years and are currently arranging over 1,000 viewing appointments every month.

The lettings team are finding the market to be very active. ‘We have more people looking than ever before,’ says Erica Whitehead, Lettings Director at Fletchers Chiswick. ‘Since the introduction of the Tenant Fees Act we have had an influx of tenants registering with us to find their next rental home. This high demand is across the board with people looking for everything from one bedroom flats to large family homes. In particular there is strong interest in this area from corporate tenants who work for multinational companies, due to its location and easy access to business hubs. Our advice for tenants is to be prepared to act fast, otherwise you run the risk of missing out on your ideal home.’

The sales team are noticing a similar trend with the very best properties for sale not staying available for long. ‘We recently had a two bedroom cottage in a prime location sell within 24 hours of coming to the market,’ says Paul Mould, Sales Director at Fletchers Chiswick. ‘That property saw competitive bidding with multiple parties hoping to secure it. We currently have all kinds of people looking to buy, from young professionals to local families and even the occasional A-Lister! There is particularly strong demand in the £450,000-£700,000 market from young first time buyers who are often buying with help from their parents. And the £1,000,000 plus market is also very active, with families looking to secure large family homes near to the very best schools.’
